About Our Larken X Fabric

When we set out to design the Larken X, we weren’t just looking for something soft. We needed something smarter. We removed the usual stuff. No clips. No wires. No tight bands. That meant the fabric had to do everything. Support, stretch, recover—and repeat.

After testing hundreds of fabrics over the years, we use the current polyester spandex blend for a number of reasons, including its buttery soft feel, ability to be conveniently put in the washer and dryer, and most importantly, its stretch and recovery, which is crucial to the design and functionality. Even better? It’s OEKO-TEX certified to ensure that the fabric has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 300 toxic chemicals, and its silky smooth finish is moisture wicking and won’t stick to your sensitive skin so you can stay cool and dry day and night.

Tested in real life—not just on paper. From cluster feeds to 2 a.m. pumps, from crib naps to commute days. We wore it, washed it, lived in it. Because we know you will, too.

HOW IT WORKS

To pump, simply make an X!

Step 1

Pull the outer layer of fabric down and the inner layer up.

Step 2

Position the flange between both layers, over the nipple.

Step 3

Repeat the first step, in reverse order, on the opposite side. Position the flange in the same manner.

Step 4

Ensure that no fabric is trapped between your skin and the flange. You’re ready to go!

I reach for this bra…

I recently purchased this bra and so far have been really happy with it. Things I love about it— no weird seams/lines like other pumping bras have; holds the pump cups/flanges snug; very easy to access for nursing by either pulling up or pushing down; very comfortable and flattering; looks like a crop top, so I’ve been wearing it around the house with high waisted sweats or leggings and an over sized sweatshirt or button up and it actually looks like a presentable outfit. My one complaint is the fabric and construction, I’m wondering how long it’s going to last, but I’m not docking any stars for that yet because it remains to be seen. I’ll probably be ordering more in other colors because I really like it and I find myself reaching for this bra over all my other nursing/pumping bras.

Best pumping and nursing bra

I have the Larken X in every color now because it has been the most comfortable and adaptable bra I’ve found as a first time mom! It’s so easy to nurse or pump and works great under my clothes without being too restrictive or bulky. Obsessed!

Decent--size up if you are unsure

I bought two, one in a medium, one in a large. They are very thin, and also yes, very comfortable. But the smaller/tighter fitting option (the medium for me), when I put the pumps on, one of them is almost pointing upwards, so I have to hunch forward for it to actually collect. And I can't pull the bra down for breastfeeding, I have to pull it up. The large fits much better, I can pull down for breastfeeding, and the pumps fit better in that size.

Others have said the bras stain easily, and they are right. any breast milk or spit up will stain the bra. And they are light, so nipples will be prominent in a thin shirt.

Overall good bra--size up.
